NEW MANAGEMENT AT THE GRIFFIN INN
The Overends have finally arrived at the Griffin Inn. With a huge thank you to Jim, Barrie and their team, Liz and Meg moved into the Griffin Inn on August 23rd together with Nelson the retired Basset and Charlie, the black Labrador. Chris and Amy have stayed on at the Millstone in Ryhall until the sale there is completed. The Griffin is now open every day 11-3pm and 6-11pm. We are serving bar snacks at lunchtime and Meg’s Posh Pizzas in the evening whilst we recruit a chef, (any chefs looking for a job do please get in touch on 01476 550201). As soon as the full catering service is available we will let you know.
We have been contacted by the BBC who are following our refurbishment project which may hit the TV screens in October. A film crew was with us through our first day at the Griffin. We have a lot of hard work ahead of us and any budding or talented helpers would be most welcome and rewarded with lunch and a pint (or a G&T) or whatever. We are trying to bring out all of the natural features within the building and daily discover new things.
We hope to put on a fun quiz night once a month, it is something to behold with the special talents of our quiz master Edwin, (to experience is to believe!)
We have applied to be tested to achieve Cask Marque, this is an independent quality assurance scheme for hand pulled ales, at the moment we are safely delivered of Courage Directors and Adnams Broadside. Liz is and always has been in control of the beers and always achieved the standards required at the Millstone.
Our website should be up and running over the next few days, click and have a look when you have a spare moment at www.thegriffinirnham.co.uk
