_______________________________________________________________________ LUTTRELL PSALTER FILM UPDATE
Filming of the Luttrell Psalter film is now well underway.
We have been successful in our fund-raising gaining sponsorship from the Lincolnshire Co-operative Ltd, Lincoln University, Bishop Grosseteste University College, Ruddock’s, North Kesteven District Council, Cool Milk at School, and other small local firms. The funding covers resources, the making of clothing and replicas, and location costs and fees. Unfortunately, we were not successful in our Heritage Lottery application (they don’t fund films), so we have not been able to expand beyond the film process to include other community events. We remain, however a community driven project and welcome, indeed rely upon, the participation and involvement of the people of Lincolnshire.
We are filming throughout the seasons and have two critical scenes already completed, including the chicken feeding scene and the "milking the sheep and jug and bucket carrying" scene (below). We are currently waiting for the cherries to ripen so that we can film the famous cherry stealing scene. The persistent rain has reduced the opportunities to get out and film, but we are still on schedule.
You can see a
clip from the film on YouTube as well as a number of mini-documentaries on the making of items such as the bee skep and the medieval jug.
